EPATV celebrates Halloween

EPATV celebrates Halloween

On October 31st students at EPATV celebrated a secular event initially known as All Hallows ‘ Eve and later Halloween.

The Department of English Teachers organized a costume contest; the class with the best costumes would win a prize. On the morning of Halloween, students disguised themselves after supernatural figures. The spirit of Halloween was in the air: witches, ghosts, devils, skeletons, sorcerers, bats, jack o’ lanterns,… everywhere… everyone got a good scare! The costume contest was overwhelming, participants used the best of their black imagination to disguise themselves, and the audience had a real good time while watching the pageant.

The prize for the best disguised class went to the 3rd year course of Industrial Maintenance, and the prize for best individual costume went to João Morais, from the 3rd year course of Restaurant and Bar (waiters) and to Adriano Aedo, from the 1st year course of Graphic Design.

Students from the course of Photography did the photo coverage of the event and organized a face painting workshop in the school’s front foyer where many students painted their face. Also, the students from the course of Audio Visual were in charge of the footage in the costume contest.

In the afternoon, students and teachers were treated to a Halloween film. It was a different day at school, it seemed like a day in fantasyland. Each one had the opportunity to be creative and put on a character for a day, to be whoever they wanted to be and to tell a story through a costume. As Sir Arthur Conan Doyle once stated ‘Where there is no imagination there is no horror’.
